Your workspace

Find your way around native sections, navigation and shared workspaces.

A workspace is the context for your pages, databases, connected views and enabled addons. Switch workspaces from the sidebar to move between personal work and shared spaces.

Find your way

Use Docs for writing, Databases for structured information and Projects for planning. Actions focuses on what needs doing, while Calendar gives dated work a place in your schedule. Dashboard brings useful views together. Rooms keeps conversations close to the work.

Open search from the sidebar or press Command+K on macOS or Control+K elsewhere. Results follow the active workspace and your access. The advanced index and optional AI retrieval depend on host configuration; keyword search remains useful without a model provider.

Shape the sidebar

Drag native section handles to reorder Calendar, Projects and the other sections. Keyboard arrows and settings controls provide alternatives to dragging. Use Customize sidebar to adjust section visibility, density and pinned widgets.

You can resize the sidebar, organize page groups and choose icons. Width, density, native section visibility and widget preferences are scoped to the account, workspace and device. Group and page organization use the workspace’s saved navigation.

Archiving hides a page and its descendants from the active tree. Restore them from Archive; archiving does not permanently delete the documents.

Make it feel like yours

Choose light or dark appearance and customize page icons, covers and layout. Appearance can be configured at account, workspace and page levels. Preview your choices before saving; keep unsaved drafts when cancelling.

Default Inter and JetBrains Mono fonts are bundled with the clients. Optional user-selected hosted fonts may require a network connection.

Share with clear roles

Workspaces use owner, editor and viewer roles. Editing controls follow the underlying record’s permissions. A viewer can inspect accessible content without gaining editing rights through a widget, search result or addon.

Workspace ownership and host package administration are separate. A workspace owner can enable installed tools; host administration controls package downloads and server-level operations. Read access and data before connecting a shared installation.
